The ThinkFirst Concussion Road Shows have provided up to date concussion information to large audiences across Canada. This often includes the science behind a concussion, with emphasis on the recognition, as well as diagnosis, management and detailed return-to-play guidelines for recovering from a sport concussion. Concussion Road Shows have been held in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, in Ottawa for Hockey Canada, and in Halifax as part of the National Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion Conference, among many other hugely successful events across Canada.
These presentations, often led by leading experts in the field of sport concussions, share the latest medical and scientific information about brain injury, risk factors, prevention techniques, and concussion management guidelines. Members of the College of Family Physicians of Canada may claim Mainpro-M2 credits for this unaccredited educational program.
In the past, ThinkFirst Concussion Road Shows have been made possible in part by the Dr. Tom Pashby Sports Safety Fund. Visit our Concussion Resource page for more information about concussions and how to best manage them.
